Vinyl fabrics all meet FMVSS 302 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 302)….What does this mean?!? Well, if you are familiar with upholstering car interiors then you are well versed on the fire code requirement. The Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard has set a specific tests for the burn resistance of a material to be used in a motor vehicle. Obviously, this requirement is to increase the safety measures and prevent fewer deaths in the event of an accident. We want to ensure that your RV, bus, travel trailer, toy hauler, van, etc. are completely up to code as well! Flexsteel provides a very limited selection of fabrics so we have sourced alternatives that will meet Federal standards as well as Flexsteel's requirement. These fabrics can also be purchased "by the yard" for cushions and other reupholstery projects.
